A thought

Dear God,

Give us enough contentment to feel elated at others happiness!

-PS

How much time he saves who does not look to see what his neighbor says or does or thinks.

-Marcus Aurelius

It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.

- Confucius

When things are investigated, then true knowledge is achieved; when true knowledge is achieved, then the will becomes sincere; when the will is sincere, then the heart is set right ; when the heart is set right, then the personal life is cultivated; when the personal life is cultivated, then the family life is regulated; when the family life is regulated, then the national life is orderly; and when the national life is orderly, then there is peace in this world.

Spelling of Research

Yesterday, we were learning a few abbreviations. BARC was fourth. When he got to R, he said: "I know it is 'Re' plus 'search'. But i cannot get the correct arrangement of Search. I know for sure it has the letter SHAREC"!!.

How is one supposed to help organize that? Is this a trait of lateral thinking? Wrong wiring? Would it be actually harmful to forcefully correct it? How does his brain know the letters but not the order? Is phonetic instruction misleading for him?

A Prayer

Leisure
- Willim Henry Davies

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
